COMMISSIONER’S COMMENTS

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION

BID OPENING

1. Public Works – Crushing, Hauling & Stockpiling Mineral Aggregates at Various Locations, Douglas County, Oregon

PROCLAMATION declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention month and declaring April 29,
2006 as “Celebrate Children” day.

HEARING

1. First Reading of an ordinance adding a new subsection to 12.12.180 of the Douglas County code relating to alcohol possession at land managed for park purposes near Umpqua River Lighthouse.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS 911

1. Agreement for Communications Services for City of Sutherlin (Police Department) for fiscal year 2006/2007.

2. Agreement for Communications Services for City of Roseburg (police and fire) for fiscal year 2006/2007.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT

1. Order to appoint Sandi Smick to the Senior Services Advisory Council. Term to expire 6/30/07.

PARK

1. “Preserving Oregon Grant” agreement PO#-05-06. Park Department staff applied for and was granted a “Preserving Oregon Grant” to paint the exterior and roof of the Lighthouse, Coast Guard Museum and Maintenance shop.

PLANNING

1. “Order Setting Hearing Date” and “Notice of a Public Hearing” for annexation of property to the Douglas County Fire District No. 2. Chief Petitioner: LaLande. The petition has qualified under ORS 198.857, annexation without election by petition of landowner. The signature of the property owner of the proposed annexation has been verified. There are no known objectors at this time. The hearing date can be set for May 10, 2006.

2. “Order Setting Hearing Date” and “Notice of a Public Hearing” for annexation of property to the Douglas County Fire District No. 2. Chief Petitioner: Fummerton. The petition has qualified under ORS 198.857, annexation without election by petition of landowner. The signature of the property owner of the proposed annexation has been verified. There are no known objectors at this time. The hearing date can be set for May 10, 2006.

3. “Order Setting Hearing Date” and “ Notice of a Public Hearing” for annexation of property to the Glide Rural Fire Protection District. Chief Petitioner: Kennaday. The petition has qualified under ORS 198.857, annexation without election by petition of landowner. The signature of the property owner of the proposed annexation has been verified. There are no known objectors at this time. The hearing date can be set for May 10, 2006.

PUBLIC WORKS

1. Contract change order No.1 with LTM, Inc. in the amount of $22,545 for paving of ATV staging area at Salmon Harbor Drive, County Road No. 251.

2. Extension and modification of lease with Oregon Department of Transportation in the amount of $1,450.00 per month for office space at 433 Rifle Range Road.

3. Order accepting easement from Tim and Colleen Bechtel for connection to the Glide-Idleyld Park sewer system.

4. Contract modification with US Geological Survey in the amount of $36,551.00 for additional water monitoring in association with restoration efforts at Diamond Lake.

SHERIFF

1. Agreement for law enforcement services to be provided to the City of Canyonville by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
