Douglas County Veterans Service Office
The Veterans Service Office personnel counsel, advise and assist all veterans and their survivors or dependent parents in obtaining the benefits provided for them by County, State and Federal laws. These benefits vary depending on each individual and can include hospitalization, education, compensation, pensions, home loans, insurance, and property tax exemptions. The Veterans Service Office also assists women veterans in obtaining benefits to which they are entitled.
Such services include
- Identifying potential claims and entitlements to which veteran or dependent may be eligible.
- Assisting veteran or dependent in gathering and/or completing
necessary entitlement related applications and documentation.
- Providing a variety of outreach services as necessary
and appropriate.

Walk-in Hours are 1 PM to 4PM. You may take a number any time after Noon (12:00 PM) and sign in anytime after 1:00 pm. First come, first served.
Appointments are made in the mornings ONLY for New Claims (never before filed) and Appeals (statement of case), (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings).
