THE POSITION: Serves at Senior Center
dining site working collaboratively and in cooperation with RSVP
volunteers, keeping the meal program running smoothly when the Area Site
Coordinator is working in the field. Essential Functions:
Provide excellent customer service; order meals and kitchen supplies
from food service contractor; provide assistance to RSVP volunteers in
setting up dining site with warming, dishing and serving hot meals,
works with RSVP volunteers helping clean dining site and sanitizing
kitchen; coordinate with building representative regarding maintenance
and safety of building; inventory supplies before and after each meal;
assist public and other employees in answering routine questions and
providing readily available information; works with designated volunteer
in collecting, making change and preparing cash for deposit. Requires
regular and consistent availability: 3 days per week, Tuesday, Thursday
and/or Friday.
NOTE: A pool is being established of
on-call food service workers to staff dining sites.
SALARY: $8.74 per hour
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any
combination of course work, experience and/or training that provides
required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform duties of
this position. A Food Handler’s Certificate must be obtained within 30
days of hire. Some positions must possess a valid Oregon driver’s
license at time of appointment.

BACKGROUND
INVESTIGATION: Employment offer is conditional upon satisfactory
results of pre-employment background check.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: Offer of employment is contingent
upon final candidate successfully completing pre-employment chemical
detection screen. To determine if physically qualified to perform the
essential functions, employment offer is conditional upon satisfactory
results of a post-offer medical and audiological exam; conducted at
county expense.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a confined, noisy, crowded kitchen environment.
May require wearing gloves, bending, color identification, crouching,
gripping with hands and fingers, hearing voice conversation, kneeling,
occasionally lifting/carrying up to 60 pounds, pulling, pushing,
reaching, sitting, standing long periods, stooping, twisting body, and
walking. The work setting may include exposure to cleaners, dust,
solvents, grease, water, pollen, fumes, outside temperature extremes and
may require working shifts.
DRIVING RECORD:
Applicants selected for interview will be required
to bring to the interview a Court Print driving history obtained from
