Applications will be used to create a pool of individuals who can
provide part-time or full-time temporary services.
THE POSITION:
Positions are part-time or full-time temporary, and work schedules are
based on the needs of the department. This position exists to provide
general support to the clinical activity of Mental Health Records
staff. Essential functions: Filing in open, closed and
supplemental client charts; copying records as required and allowed by
law; retrieving data from computer files; coordinating chart
availability for clinical appointments. Requires regular and consistent
attendance. Marginal functions: Provides administrative support
within the Administrative Support Unit.
The ideal candidate
will possess a positive, friendly attitude, strong communication skills,
and enjoy working in a busy office setting, interacting with many
diverse individuals on a daily basis.
STARTING SALARY:
$9.16/hour - $12.10/hour depending on experience. (Non-benefited
position)
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years work-related support experience OR a satisfactory equivalent
combination of education, experience and training. Computer experience,
including word processing required.
Prior administrative
experience in medical office a plus.
In addition to the
above, applications will be evaluated based on the following: Thorough
knowledge of medical records filing, thorough knowledge of
HIPAA regulations as related to medical/mental health records;
reasonable knowledge of fulfilling subpoenas for medical/mental health
records; reasonable knowledge of general office practices and
procedures; use of office equipment including automated equipment and
copiers. Skill
in typing accurately; use of complex office equipment which
includes automated equipment and systems; processing information on a
computer.
Ability
to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; estimate and
manage time efficiently; plan moderately complex statements and reports;
establish and maintain records, reports and statistical data;
courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees and the
public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an office/clinic (often crowded) setting requiring
hearing alarms and voice conversation in person and over the telephone,
keyboarding, occasionally lifting up to 14 pounds, kneeling, bending,
pulling, pushing, color identification, gripping with hands and fingers,
reaching, standing, walking and sitting.
CRIMINAL HISTORY
CHECK:
According to ORS 181-536 to .537, the final candidate considered for
this position is subject to a criminal offender record check. A
disqualifying event, as defined by OAR Chapter 309, Division 18, and
determined by the State of Oregon, will result in denial or termination
of employment.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION:
Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a
pre-employment chemical detection screen conducted at County’s expense.
EXAMINATION:
Finalists may be invited at a future date to a written examination of
general clerical skills.
