SALMON
HARBOR RV RESORT MANAGER
Pay Range GC22
This position is
responsible for
providing direct
oversight and
management of the
RV Resort and
assists with
developing and
implementing short
term and long term
strategies for the
RV Resort.
Performs a variety
of supervisory,
marketing, and
administrative
functions at the
direction of the
Harbor Manager.

1.
Provides
direct
oversight and
management of
the RV Resort
and assists
with
developing and
implementing
short term and
long term
strategies for
the RV
Resort. At
the direction
of the Harbor
manager,
performs a
variety of
supervisory,
marketing, and
administrative
functions.
2. Directs,
supervises and
evaluates the
work of the RV
Resort office
staff on a day
to day basis,
and assists
with selection
of staff.
Conducts
performance
reviews and
makes hiring
and firing
recommendations
to the Harbor
Manager.
3. Meets with
the Harbor
Manager and
staff on a
regular basis
to receive
guidance,
provide status
reports,
discuss
management
issues and
policy
development
and plan
events.
4. Plans
and conducts
research to
gain feedback
on existing
and/or
proposed
changes to RV
Resort
policies and
facilities;
formulates
recommendations
to present to
the Harbor
Manager.
5. Responsible
for
administrating
and
supervising
the volunteer
Camp Host and
Work Camper
program for
the RV Resort
and the Salmon
Harbor Marina
self-contained
campground.
Duties
include, but
are not
limited to,
interviewing,
scheduling,
and training
the
volunteers.
6. Prepare
complex
automated
management
reporting as
necessary.
Assists in
development of
the annual
department
budget. Makes
recommendations
to the Harbor
Manager
concerning
changes to the
RV Resort
rates and
fees.
7. Address
and coordinate
maintenance
and
landscaping
needs and
issues with
maintenance
supervisor.
8.
Responsible
for
maintaining
positive
customer
service
programs.
Resolves guest
issues/challenges
including
evictions
while
maintaining
positive guest
relations.
9.
Acts as a
liaison to
visitors,
staff and
community
members, and
maintains
relationships
with current
and potential
advertising
and marketing
resources and
visitor group
representatives.
10. Researches
and develops
marketing
program for
the RV Resort
and Salmon
Harbor Marina
and makes
recommendations
to the Harbor
Manager to
ensure optimum
usage of
facilities
year-round.
Implements and
manages the
marketing
program based
on direction
received from
the Harbor
Manager.
11. Responsible
for
coordination
of all changes
and updates to
the RV Resort
web site and
the Salmon
Harbor Marina
web site.
12.
Coordinates
and manages
all special
events and
related agreements
for the RV
Resort.
13. Develops
and
coordinates RV
Resort
newsletter
content and
distribution.

Education,
experience and
training: Bachelor’s
degree in
marketing, parks
and recreation
management,
business
administration, or
related field plus
four years
progressively
responsible and
related work
experience which
includes
management
experience OR
satisfactory
equivalent
combination of
formal education
and work
experience. At
time of
appointment, must
possess a valid
Oregon driver's
license.
SUPERVISORY
CONTROLS OF THIS
POSITION
This
classification
works under the
general direction
of the Harbor
Manager.
Recurring routine
assignments are
independently
performed by
employee on basis
of past
experience. The
employee receives
general
instructions
regarding the
scope and approach
to projects or
assignments, but
procedures and
problem resolution
are left to
employee’s
discretion and
interpretation.
Capacity for
independent
judgment is
expected in the
resolution of
issues. Employee
estimates and
manages time
efficiently. Work
is reviewed
periodically to
ensure identified
goals are being
met and in
compliance with
department policy
and procedures.

Work is performed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
AND WORK
ENVIRONMENT
Regular and
consistent
attendance is
required. Work is
primarily
performed in the
Winchester Bay RV
resort and Salmon
Harbor marina area
but may involve
irregular work
hours including
evenings, weekends
and holidays to
meet demands; will
involve hearing
voice
conversation,
keyboarding,
reaching, sitting,
standing, walking,
walking on uneven
ground, stepping
up and down, and
may involve
lifting up to 25
pounds. A
reasonable amount
of driving is
