KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION
Knowledge of: Basic knowledge of auto detailing; basic knowledge of custodial services.
Skill in: Operating required vehicles; processing information on computerized equipment.
Ability to: Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms; understand and follow oral and written instructions; work within approved safety standards; work independently and manage time efficiently; make decisions independently in accordance with established polices and procedures; use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities; utilize problem identification and resolution techniques; remain calm and use good judgment during confrontational or high pressure situations; courteously meet and deal effectively with employees, other agency representatives, vendors and the public.
training: Any combination of coursework, experience and training which provides required knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the position. At time of appointment, must possess a valid Oregon driver's license.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS OF THIS POSITION
Work is performed with immediate supervision from fleet services manager. Work is performed in accordance with established guidelines or procedures. Assignments are given with specific instructions or are routine so that few deviations from established practices are made without checking with supervisor. Work is spot checked in progress or at completion. Employee must manage time efficiently. Supervisor is in close proximity for each reference.
Work is performed within departmental policy and procedures, DEQ and OSHA regulations and computer reference material. The employee uses reasonable judgment, initiative and experience to interpret guidelines and choose between alternatives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regular and consistent attendance is required. Work is performed primarily at the fleet services facility. Work requires bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, gripping with hands, hearing alarms and voice conversation, keyboarding, lifting up to 50 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, twisting, sitting and walking. Work is performed in an environment which involves everyday risks or discomforts and sometime adverse weather conditions requiring safety precautions. A reasonable amount of driving is required.
