About Us

How can our healthcare system respond most effectively to a major health emergency that could overwhelm its routine capacity and resources?  The primary purpose of the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) is to upgrade the preparedness of hospitals and health systems in the State of Oregon to respond to natural and man-made disasters.  The intention is to use the planning and system improvements made through the bioterrorism preparedness program to improve capacity to respond to other large-scale events -- earthquakes, floods, pandemics.
