Health Promotion & Chronic Disease Prevention

About Us

Chronic Diseases -- such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease -- are the leading causes of death in the U.S.  Although these are the most common and costly causes of health problems, they are also among the most preventable.

Unlike traditional medical treatment of illness and injury, Douglas County Health Promotion programs and partnerships seek to reduce the risks associated with many of today's most pressing health conditions by promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy communities.
