Oregon's Smokefree

Workplace Law

In June 2007, the Oregon legislature passed a law expanding the Oregon Smokefree Workplace Law to include:

  • Bars
  • Bar areas of restaurants
  • Bingo halls
  • Bowling alleys
  • Employee break rooms
  • At least 75% of hotel/motel sleeping rooms

The new law also prohibits smoking within 10 feet of entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilation intakes of workplaces or public places.
