In June 2007,
the Oregon legislature passed a law
expanding the Oregon Smokefree Workplace Law
to include:
- Bars
- Bar areas of
restaurants
- Bingo halls
- Bowling alleys
- Employee break rooms
- At least 75% of
hotel/motel sleeping rooms
The new law
also prohibits smoking within 10 feet of
entrances, exits, windows that open, and
ventilation intakes of workplaces or public
places.
The new
restrictions became effective on January 1, 2009.
