Let's face it, we're not as
healthy as we should be, and healthy
choices are not as easy
as they could be. A community's health is its most precious
asset. Douglas County Public Health Promotion works to
engage communities in identifying health risks and
developing solutions that remove barriers to health.
There is a growing recognition of the ways that
community conditions impact individual health and the
health of entire communities. Research has shown that
place matters—where we live, work, learn, and play can
affect our health.
