Applications are being accepted by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners to fill two positions on the Douglas County Library Board.

The Board is composed of seven voting members who serve as an advisory body with the authority to assist and advise the commissioners and the library director on matters concerning the management and operation of the library. The board performs the following functions and activities with regard to the library:

1. Formulate rules and policies for the operation of the Douglas County Library system.

2. Assist the library director in preparing an annual budget.

3. Serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Commissioners concerning library matters.
