MINUTES of the board meeting of May 19, 2004 to be approved.

BID OPENINGS

1. Request for proposals for paging common equipment for the new communications project.

BUILDING FACILITIES

1. Award of contract for courthouse electrical work to Sims Electric, Inc. Total purchase amount is $119,823 for estimated cost of services.

LAND

1. Resolution declaring that the acquisition of certain properties for culvert replacement under Clarks Branch Road is in the public interest.

PUBLIC WORKS

1. Order accepting easement from Paul and Laurie Hartsook for connection to the Glide-Idleyld Park sewer system.

2. Modification of contract with Biomass One for purchase of recycled material from Douglas County Landfill. Rate paid to the county will decrease from $3.10 per dry ton to $2.15 per green ton.

3. Order awarding contract to Interlocking Deck Systems International for purchase of steel grid decking for Green Valley Bridge. Total purchase amount is $63,700.

SHERIFF

1. Supplemental provisions to maintenance agreement addendum and scope of work with Identix for fingerprint machine in Sheriff’s Records Division used for fingerprinting of employees, concealed handgun applicants, and special deputies. Agreement amount is $4,365 annually.

2. Extension of agreement with Sutherlin Police Department for county to provide communications services. Contract amount is $13,661.55.

3. Extension of agreement for a School Resource Deputy in the South Umpqua School District. Agreement amount is $18,093.60.

4. Intergovernmental agreement with the city of Riddle for Douglas County to provide law enforcement services. Agreement amount is $106,473.36 for fiscal year 2004-2005, and the following year that sum, plus CPI percentage.

5. Intergovernmental agreement with the city of Sutherlin for housing of prisoners in the county correctional facility. City will pay $50 per prisoner per day.

6. Intergovernmental agreement with the city of Glendale for Douglas County to provide law enforcement services. Agreement amount is $37,251.52.

MISCELLANEOUS

1. Extension of contract with Douglas County Industrial Development Board/CCD Contract. Contract amount is $36,000 per year and is included in the 2004-2005 DCIDB budget.

2. Order appointing Randy Bailey to the Terrace Drive and Upper Terrace Lane Special Road District Board of Directors. Term to expire December 31, 2006.

3. Order reappointing Virginia Grant and Scott Cohan to the Special Transportation Advisory Committee. Terms to expire May 27, 2006.

4. Order appointing Dean Ewell to the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee. Term to expire November 30, 2006.

5. Order reappointing members to the Smith River Watershed Council. Terms to expire March 1, 2006.
