PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
MINUTES of the Board meeting held on September 7, 2011
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION FOR COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY
1. HUMAN RESOURCES – Contract (Mike Hereford)
The contract for legal services with the law firm of Littler Mendelson, PC, expired. The firm has agreed to maintain its current billing rates without increase for another year. The third modification extends the contract for 1 year, through August 15, 2012.
2. LAW LIBRARY – Order (Diana Hadley)
The Douglas County Law Library has been asked several times regarding space for out of town attorneys to take depositions. The law library has a work room which is rarely used & could be utilized as a deposition room. The law library board and library director have agreed to allow this use of the room. The law library will charge $50.00 for up to 4 hours and $100.00 for 4 to 8 hours for the use of the space and provide a needed space for legal matters.
3. LIBRARY – Agreement (Max Leek)
Amendment to the grant agreement between Douglas County and Douglas County Library Foundation. The amendment describes when and where and under what circumstances the Endowment Fund can be used for the benefit of the Douglas County Library System.
4. MISCELLANEOUS – Extension of Contract (Paul Meyer)
Fifth extension of contract with Sandra Jackson dba Jackson Consulting for grant writing and coordination services as needed. Extends contract to June 30, 2012 at a rate of $80.00 per hour.
5. MISCELLANEOUS – Appointment (Max Leek)
A vacancy exists on the Library Board due to the resignation of James Hill, Jr. The Library Board recommends the appointment of Bob Agee who applied in a recent recruitment. Term will end June 30, 2015.

The next regularly scheduled Board meeting will be held September 21, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 216 of the Douglas County Courthouse, Roseburg, OR.
