PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
MINUTES of the Board meeting held on July 1, 2009
CITIZEN PARTICIPATION FOR COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY
1. COUNTY COUNSEL – Saving Grace Contract Extension
One month extension with Saving Grace extending 08-09 contract with a 10% decrease in payment for the extension.
2. PLANNING – Delegation of Authority Report
Under the Delegation of Authority Order dated June 25, 1997, a periodic report on Delegated Responsibilities is required. The scheduling of this agenda item will provide for an opportunity to report on actions taken in administration of the County’s program on behalf of the Board of Commissioners during the Second Quarter of 2009. During this reporting period, there were four (4) final Zone Change Orders, four (4) Waivers of Objection to Assessment, and four (4) Orders setting hearing date.
3. PUBLIC WORKS -- Contract
Contract with LTM, in the amount of $625,860.00 for overlay of Old Pacific Highway County Road No. 386, M.P 3.43, Douglas County, Oregon
4. PUBLIC WORKS -- Contract
Contract with Beckley Excavation & Utility, Inc., in the amount of $75,490.00 for construction of a pedestrian walkway on Tiller Trail Highway, County Road No. 1, mile post 2.70 to mile post 2.80, Douglas County, Oregon.
5. SHERIFF– Contract
Contract with Oregon State Marine Board for patrol services on Oregon’s waterways in Douglas County. The cost is a total of $389,730.00.
6. SHERIFF – Contract
DINT is asking for approval to electronically file the following grant application: This grant does not require any match funding by the County. Under this grant, DINT will purchase 8 hand-held Global Positioning Systems, storage bins and caster safety ladder for the evidence locker, and send four investigators to tactical entry training. Grant total is $11,605.00
7. MISCELLANEOUS – Certifications Required by Grant
Douglas County is the recipient of a Community Development Block Grant that is being used in the Winchester Bay Sanitary District upgrade. The grant administrators require certification that we have met certain requirements. The proposed letter contains three of the required certifications.
8. MISCELLANEOUS – Deliberation and Appointment to the Special Transportation Advisory Council
