PROCLAMATION – Youth with Disabilities Awareness Day

MINUTES of the Board meeting held on March 7, 2012

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION FOR COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS ONLY

1. BID OPENING – (1) New 21’ Multi Purpose Inboard, Jet Powered Boat with Trailer (Mike Blanck)
Replacement for Marine Patrol boat. Fully funded by a grant received from the Oregon State Marine Board.

2. PUBLIC HEARING – Order calling for election for the Annexation of multiple properties into the Douglas County Fire District No. 2 (Keith Cubic)
This is the second of two public hearings for annexation of multiple parcels to Douglas County Fire District No. 2. The purpose of the hearing is to approve the Order Calling for Election. There are no known objectors to the proposed annexation at this time. The election is called for May 15, 2012.

3. COUNTY COUNSEL – Amended Order (Paul Meyer)
Amended Order calling for Election on District Formation, Lookingglass Fire District in Douglas County, Oregon.

4. DISTRICT ATTORNEY – Grant (Rick Wesenberg)
Juvenile Accountability Block Grant Program application (RFA). The funds are being granted by the federal government and will be passed through the state in the amount of $6,000.00 for fiscal year 2012-2013. This grant has been received for the previous 13 fiscal years and has paid a portion of the salary for the Deputy District Attorney to prosecute juvenile delinquency cases. The grant amount in previous years was $10,000.00. The grant requires a match of $82,691.00 which is in the District Attorney’s current budget.

5. PLANNING – Order (Keith Cubic)
Order affirming the decision of the Planning Commission in the Steve F. Stinger request for a plan amendment, zone change, and conditional use permit to allow a plumbing business with watchman’s quarters in an existing building on a .74 acre parcel on Melrose Road, west of Roseburg. As part of the plan amendment process, Board action is required to adopt an Order affirming the findings of fact and decision of the Planning Commission.

The next regularly scheduled Board meeting will be held March 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 216 of the Douglas County Courthouse, Roseburg, OR.
