GENERAL MANUFACTURED HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST

INSPECTION REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED BEFORE 4:00 PM OF THE PREVIOUS WORKING DAY

INITIAL or SITE/SETBACK INSPECTION

Verify plot plan information and setbacks

Site (‘Stand’): vegetation removed; leveled; graded and drained; vapor barrier (if under footings; not permitted under ‘slab’); anchor approval, location and installation

‘Cut and Fill’ Site (‘Stand’): If on fill exceeding 12 inches in depth below the bottom of the footings a soils compaction test shall be provided by the owner.

May be combined with the ‘foundation/runner’ inspection

ALLOW ONE DAY FOR INSPECTION BEFORE SCHEDULING CONCRETE.

FOUNDATION/RUNNERS INSPECTION

Foundation/Slab/Concrete runner forms (wire mesh or rebar in place and suspended) - Chapter 3-5 and 3-8

Anchor approval, location and installation (when required) - Chapter 3

SETUP INSPECTION

Blocking or Piers - Chapter 3-8

Electrical ‘Feeder’ Inspection - may require approval by State Electrical Inspector prior to ‘Setup Inspection’ - Chapter 4-2

Vapor Barrier on ground - 6 mil thickness - Chapter 3-4.7

Temporary Steps installed at doors - Chapter 3-12.2

Gasline Test (3 PSI of air pressure for 10 minutes - (the County does not provide test equipment) - Chapter 6-5.3(a)1

Hook-up and lines to sewer or septic tank and water source -                        Sewer (18 ga. green tracer wire required) and                                                 Water (18 ga. blue tracer wire required) - Chapter 5-3.5(d) and 5-2.4(d)

FINAL INSPECTION (access required)

Check/Test Smoke Detectors and GFCI’s - Chapter 1-8.13

Skirting installed - Chapter 3-9 and 3-10.2.1

Proper amount of venting provided (1sf./ea. 150 sf.) -                                  Chapter 3-10.1.2 and Table 3-D 

Access to underfloor at cleanouts and water shut-off valve -                       Chapter 5-3.3 and 5-2.6

Permanent Steps installed at all doors (3 ft. x 3 ft. square landing min.) -    Chapter 3-12
